Orthotics

Kintec Footlabs manufacturers custom-made premium quality prescription foot orthotics for patients of healthcare professionals across Canada

Custom orthotics are precision medical devices that are tailored for an individual to correct biomechanical misalignment (e.g. high arch or flat feet). They are inserted in shoes and also used in the treatment of a variety of lower extremity conditions such as Plantar Fasciitis. They can relieve pain, improve skeletal alignment or improve the function of your foot and lower limbs!

Kintec Footlabs is a leader in this field. Working by medical prescription our clinical team of Canadian-Board Certified Pedorthists assess your needs using the latest computerized gait analysis equipment available. Learn more about what a Canadian-Board Certified Pedorthist is

We are committed to YOUR RESULTS!

Each year thousands of people spend millions of dollars on orthotics and don't get the results they expect. Often this is simply the result of not evaluating your bio-mechanics properly and gaining a clear understanding of the true cause of the problem or determining if an orthotic is even needed!

That is why at Kintec Footlabs we conduct a thorough, comprehensive bio-mechanical assessment on each and every patient. Regardless of whether you have been referred by your family doctor, podiatrist, orthopaedic surgeon or sports medicine specialist, we conduct the same intense assessment.

It is imperative to get all the bio-mechanical information possible so that we can design an appliance that is right for you. Kintec Footlabs was the first clinic of its kind in western Canada to introduce dynamic in-shoe pressure and timing analysis as well as video-gait analysis. These tools, when used by experienced Certified Pedorthists, can be invaluable in getting you the results you deserve.

What are your qualifications?

Our staff of Canadian Board Certified Pedorthists and Technicians is a highly qualified team of individuals, ready to help you. As Pedorthists, we specialize in the foot and lower limb mechanics of the human body. Our pedorthists first possess a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology or Health Sciences, and then follow an extensive in-house residency program. Upon completion, these individuals must successfully complete examination by the Pedorthic Association Of Canada.

What is involved in the Custom Orthotic assessment process?

Standard Clinical Assessment:
Due to our Pedorthic Association Code of Ethics, Kintec can only build orthotics when prescribed by your family doctor. After you have obtained a prescription, our team will typically book you for a standard one hour appointment with a Pedorthist.

This hour long one-on-one detailed assessment focuses on YOUR personal biomechanical and gait analysis. Our in-depth analysis allows the Pedorthist to examine your foot and leg biomechanics. We assess your individual biomechanics to determine if orthotic therapy is appropriate. Learn about the state-of-the-art technology that Kintec uses in your orthotic assessment!

We believe in educating you with the knowledge about your injury or condition, so that you are better able to help yourself in reducing your risk of injury in the future.

During the assessment, a Pedorthist may use a variety of casting techniques to gain three-dimensional images of your feet. From this point, in-house fabrication of the custom orthotics begins with our technical team, with close attention and direction from the assessing Pedorthist. Kintec designs and manufactures your orthotics utilizing only the latest in CAD/CAM technology combined with time honoured traditional craftsmanship, to ensure the best results possible.
